WELCOME TO
EAST COAST BAYS R.F.C
(80 YEARS YOUNG)

The East Coast Bays Rugby Football Club was founded in 1946, to cater for the sparsely populated people of the East Coast Bays area on the North Shore of Auckland. 2024 sees a fresh start for the club with new sponsors, new committee members, new coaches across a number of grades as well as welcoming new players and some old players returning.

East Coast Bays Rugby Club recent successes include The Premier 1 team winning the championship in 2019, The U85’s taking it out in 2021 and our U21 side making 5 in row Championships the same year. These achievements helped ECBRFC be voted North Harbour Rugby Unions Club of the year 2021, our 75th year! Go Bays!!

LATEST CLUB NEWS

19 June 2026

Dear Rugby Club & Cricket Club Members,

Following our recent communication about Auckland Council’s decision approving the rezoning, we are pleased to advise that the appeal period has now closed with no appeals lodged.

This clears the way for us to proceed with the sale of the identified land, with all proceeds reinvested directly into upgrading and modernising the remaining facilities at Windsor Park.

Our Vision for the Future

To ensure Windsor Park remains a thriving hub for future generations of cricketers, rugby players, and the wider community, we have developed a bold redevelopment plan. The proposed upgrades include:

• Modern, inclusive changing rooms designed for all ages and genders

• A versatile community clubhouse suitable for club events and external hire

• Fully renewed playing fields with sustainable irrigation systems

• State-of-the-art floodlighting to safely extend playing hours across all fields

• A new four-lane indoor cricket facility for year-round training and multi-sport use

• Additional community amenities including a perimeter walking path, outdoor gym, terraced seating, a 3x3 basketball court, and a children’s playground

These improvements will make Windsor Park more accessible, inclusive, resilient, and better equipped to serve the evolving needs of both our rugby and cricket communities for decades to come.

Upcoming Steps

We have begun the process to appoint a real estate agent and expect to confirm the appointment within the next couple of weeks.

We will also begin engaging directly with the Cricket and Rugby Clubs to gather detailed requirements for the new facilities, ensuring the final design reflects the needs of all users.

We will continue to provide regular updates as the project progresses.

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to any of the following people:
