Concrete Concepts Bays Premiers
A number of changes in the 2021 version of the East Coast Bays Premiers with a changing of the guard in coaching and a number of players taking up other opportunity’s elsewhere.
Lewis Gjaltema has headed off shore as part of the Harlequins squad while Ethan Roots is returning from the south having been part of the Crusaders squad in 2020. Also, in the group is the experienced Ross McKean, Jona Tuitoga and Tua Saseve. Add to the already mentioned a young talented group from our Premier 2 and highly successful Under 21 team from previous years.
The biggest changes have come off the field with Matthew Graham pairing up with Rob Grindlay to take over the helm of the Premiers, they will be supported by the returning backs coach Colin Dale and managed by the astute Chris Tobin. The challenging road ahead isn’t lost on the coaches but their successful careers in professional rugby will steady the squad and bring a wealth of knowledge on board. Matt has previously worked with the senior team as the strength and conditioning preseason trainer.
2020 was a season that everyone wants to forget with the competition abandonment and 2021 we are looking to capitalize on our strengths and the coaching group believe that with pool of talent available at Bays we can repeat the success of 2019.
